On Tuesday evening, The Brewers are at home to Staveley Miners Welfare in the NCEL Premier League. So far this season, The Welfare have got 6 points from their 4 games played, 3 of them being at home. Their only away game so far was a 3-2 win at Brigg Town. On Saturday, they went down 2-0 to late goals at home against Rainworth Miners Welfare.
In the game at Tadcaster last season, Staveley Miners Welfare were defeated 5-0 with goals by David Brown, Calum Ward and Denny Ingram, Liam Ormsby also scored twice with first half penalty kicks. In the away game, The Brewers were defeated 2-1 with their goal by Matt Sparkes. The Welfare finished last season in a strong 9th position in the table.
Elsewhere in the NCEL Premier league last weekend, Worksop Town had a fine 7-1 away win at Pontefract Collieries and Handsworth Parramore equalled The Brewers performance with a 5-0 win at home against Nostell Miners Welfare. Cleethorpes Town continued their poor start to the season with a 4-1 defeat at Albion Sports.
In other NCEL Premier games this midweek, Handsworth Parramore are at Bridlington Town on Tuesday evening, whilst Worksop Town are at home to Thackley on Wednesday. It should be a good competitive game on Tuesday and I will go for The Brewers to get a 2-1 victory.
