If good things come to those who wait then we are in for a cracking a game at ODP this Saturday! London French were due to visit us in November but were forced to concede the match due to a shortage of players. Fate repeated itself for French in January when they handed UCSOB a home walkover, adding further woe to an already difficult season.

It's a far cry from previous years when London French have caused us more than a few problems on the pitch. Last season, on their way to finishing third in the league, French won both of our fixtures. An early season 30-17 defeat at Barn Elms was followed by a 5-27 loss just before Christmas. They ended up 10 points behind second-placed Old Streetonians at the end of 2016/17 and looked likely to be one of the teams pushing for promotion this season. Instead they have won just two games - 38-29 against Watford and 17-14 against Barnet Elizabethans - and most recently recorded a draw with Staines. Eight bonus points less a five point deduction for handing us the walkover sees French adrift at the bottom of the table and destined for Herts/Middx 2 next season.

London Welsh stretched their unbeaten run to 13 games thanks to a 59-0 win at Wasps in the last round of league fixtures and now haven't conceded a point in over 220 minutes of rugby. 27 different scorers have contributed to the 98 tries that the 1st XV have clocked up in the league and we can be more than hopeful that the 100 try mark will be passed this Saturday. 57 conversions, 4 penalties and a solitary drop goal make up the 619 points scored so far.

Kick off is at the earlier time of 1.30pm and is preceded by Druids v London Scottish Extra Bs at 12.30pm. Occies then take on Hackney 4s at 3pm. Three home games in one afternoon - definitely worth waiting for!
