This weekend sees another full compliment of fixtures for Bedians three senior teams facing Prenton, Manchester 2s and Oldham 3s.

Let’s take a closer look at our opponents:

Prenton 1st XV v Old Bedians 1st XV
The first fifteen will be looking to emulate the performance of the 2s who dispatched Prenton 2s with a strong second half performance despite being 5-7 down at half time.

Judging by Prenton 2s last week Prenton will have a big pack who are both solid in defence and play a fast-paced offload game.
Last week Prenton were victorious in a high scoring 47-31 game against Ruskin Park. The game marked Prenton’s second win of the season so confidence will be high as they host the men from Didsbury.
Bedians are on a six game unbeaten run as they hunt down the league leaders and will be determined to make it seven come Saturday.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm at Prenton Dell Rd, Birkenhead, Prenton CH43 3BS.

Old Bedians 2nd XV v Manchester 2nd XV

Cheadle-based Manchester and Didsbury’s Old Bedians have always enjoyed hard fought games and tomorrow’s game promises more of the same.

Manchester have been in blistering form this season sitting in second place with only two losses against league leaders Anselmians.
Last season Bedians took the spoils with two wins a close won 10-6 win at home and a 33-7 win away on what must be the league’s widest pitch.

Manchester play an expansive game and will look to ship the ball wide at every given opportunity making use of a young, energetic backline.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm at Old Bedians Sports Centre, MIllgate Lane, M20 5QX.

Old Bedians 3rd XV Barbarians v Oldham 3rd XV

Just two weeks ago the BaBas faced Oldham in a friendly and walked away winners in an entertaining 33-24 win away from home.
Bedians Barbarians will look to play another entertaining game for the home crowd and do the double.

However, Oldham pose a significant threat and will look to use an experienced back to pile the pressure on. Oldham will play a direct running game and will put their colossal pack to good use to main yards down the pitch.

Defence will be a key element on Saturday and will determine the winning side tomorrow.

The game kicks off at 2.15pm Old Bedians Sports Centre, MIllgate Lane, M20 5QX.

Old Bedians are still recruiting this season. All player new or returning are welcome, get in touch by emailing oldbedians@gmail.com or finding us on social media - we’re on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
