Saints play their second successive Somerset side as they make one of their longest away trips to Chard. Chard can count themselves a little unlucky as they were relegated last season from South West 1 having finished 3rd bottom with 34 points.
There is no doubt that they were one of the favourites for promotion at the beginning of the season and after 7 games they are still well in with a shout having lost 2 games and drawn against a strong Kingsbridge side.
Chard have a compact ground, where they are currently undefeated and know exactly how to play that to their best advantage, with aggressive forwards and a decent backline I am sure that they will be relishing the opportunity to put one over on us.
As for Saints, we know that every game is a challenge and we need to be at our very best to come out on top. It sounds clichéd but we really do try to take it one game at a time. It’s easy to say but not so easy to do! Chard won’t be impressed by our recent form and to be frank once we cross that white line then it really doesn’t matter what's happened over the past few weeks; we have to do the basics well and try to impose our game on the opposition.
It’s a long way to go but I know the lads really appreciate any support that they get, so if you can get there that would be great…. COYS
Webmasters Note: Looking forwards to the week after and our home game against Crediton I wanted to not miss an opportunity to get something in your diaries! The Ba-Ba's are playing the mighty All Blacks at Twickenham on the same day at 1500. We intend to record it and show it straight after the Crediton game (we'll give the players time to have a rub down with a damp cloth first) so please try to join us in the club house to watch another awesome game of rugby straight after the Saints!
