The Eagles host Brigg Town on Monday evening, as they look to build on the crucial point they picked up against now promoted Knaresborough Town at the weekend.
The draw means Eccleshill remain very much in the promotion race themselves, currently occupying second place.
The sides have met once this season already in Brigg, with Eccleshill recording a 2-0 win in what was a very closely contested game, with goals from Jonny Irving and Liam Hudson sealing all three points for the away side.
Eccleshill’s attacking options and squad depth should prove too much to handle for Brigg, but the away side did not play like a team threatened with relegation when the sides met in October. The game may not be as one sided as it looks to be on paper, but Eccleshill should have what it takes to claim all three points.
Brigg are currently sitting in 21st place, occupying one of the two relegation zones, but have played three games less than bottom side Retford United. They have played some good football this season, and have given a good account of themselves despite being in a relegation scrap.
Five points separate them from Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, who are currently leading the way in the fight for safety. Unfortunately for Brigg, both sides have played the same amount of games, so any push for safety needs to gather momentum very soon.
With Eccleshill firmly in the automatic promotion picture, Regan’s sides fate is still very much in their own hands, making victory over Brigg a priority to continue the challenge.
Regan will be boosted by having a full squad to select from. Zephaniah Thomas missed the Knaresborough clash through injury, but is expected to be fit again for Monday evening.
The game is sure to be an entertaining one, as sides from opposite ends of the table clash, each looking to secure vital points for their respective battles.
