Sean Regan will be hoping his side can pick themselves up and dust themselves off following a midweek draw against Winterton Rangers, as Eccleshill travel to league leaders Knaresborough Town for what could be a season defining game.
The Eagles led since the fifth minute of the game in Winterton, but a momentary lapse in concentration saw the home side notch an equaliser in the closing moments of the game to deny Regan's side all three points.
Knaresborough's previous outing was an assured 4-0 win at home against relegation strugglers Retford United, as the North Yorkshire based side tightened their grip on the league title.
Their formidable form has seen them open up quite a sizeable gap between themselves and the chasing pack, with The Eagles being the closest opposition, 15 points behind the leaders. Currently on a run of 17 games without a defeat, Knaresborough will be brimming with confidence in this top of the table clash.
Eccleshill's recent form has seen them go four games without losing, however, three of those games ended in draws which has seen their lead over third place Grimsby Borough slashed down to just three points. Despite that, The Eagles will still be confident they can travel to Manse Lane and end Knaresborough's unbeaten run to put themselves in a strong position in the league.
The last time the sides met, it was a game to remember for Eccleshill, and one to forget for Knaresborough. A barnstorming performance from The Eagles saw them come from two goals behind, to thrash the then unbeaten league leaders 5-2, in what was a brilliant advertisement for non-league football as a whole.
With the quality the squad possesses, it is possible for Eccleshill to recreate a similar result on Saturday afternoon, however it will not be an easy game which all the players will be well aware of.
Tom Rose returned to the squad for the first time in months after suffering a hairline fracture earlier in the season, and the midfielders timely return to action will boost Sean and Des Hamilton's options in the final run in for promotion.
With first hosting second, the game guarantees goals, drama and action, and the result will most likely have a massive bearing on who goes up automatically.
