Eccleshill United FC continues it's quest for automatic promotion on Saturday afternoon, when relegation scrappers Retford United come to visit at the Mitton Group Stadium.
Sean Regan's side were defeated by the weather midweek, as their huge promotion clash against Yorkshire Amateurs was postponed due to torrential rain leaving the pitch rendered unplayable.
Desipte that postponement, The Eagles have played this week, playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw against another relegation tipped side, Brigg Town. Jonny Irving managed to notch a last gasp header to salvage a point for the ten men of Eccleshill, after Chris Lever was sent off.
Retford's last game was also against Brigg Town on Wednesday night, in a massive relegation six pointer. The Nottinghamshire based side came out on top, securing a big 3-0 win and a massive three points in the battle to stay up.
The last time these sides met, Eccleshill claimed all three points in an assured 3-0 win, courtesy of an Antony Brown brace, and a late Levi Maturine strike, a result which Eccleshill would love to recreate on Saturday.
Retford currently sit in 21st place, occupying one of the two relegation spots, with three points separating them and FC Bolsover and safety. They will be fired up for the game following their big win midweek, and will want to claim another big result in their bid to stay in the league.
Antony Brown was a big miss for The Eagles on Monday night, and he will hopefully be returning to the side to offer his services and potentially damage Retford again as he did in the reverse fixture.
With both sides desperate for three points for their respective battles on opposite ends of the table, the game promises to be an entertaining spectacle, and one that Sean Regan will be hoping his side can come out on top in.
As promoted on social media, the game will be free to attend for all Bradford City season ticket holders*, so be sure to attend and bring your season ticket with you to watch some entertaining non-league football.
*Maximum one entry per season ticket.
