The Eagles are back in action this afternoon, as they welcome another Bradford side in the form of Liversedge to the Mitton Group Stadium.
Following a bitterly disappointing 3-7 loss at home on Wednesday night to Penistone Church, Sean Regan’s side will want to get back to winning ways and put in a good performance to merit a win.
Liversedge’s last outing saw them earn a narrow win at home against Barton Town, with ex-Eccleshill player Danny Farrar netting the only goal of the game in the 77th minute.
The away side are going into today’s game on a rich vein of form at the moment, with their last seven games all resulting in wins, including an NCEL League Cup Quarter Final victory against Division One side Hallam.
Eccleshill on the other hand are suffering an end of season dip, registering just two wins in their last eight games. Regan and his side will be eager to bounce back and finish the season strongly, as they look to begin preparations for next season.
Back in December when the sides last met, the form tables were very different, with The Eagles enjoying a long winning streak and Liversedge sitting dangerously close to the drop zone.
That game ended 6-0 to Eccleshill, in what was an emphatic and superb performance by Regan’s side against his former team. This time around, it won’t be so simple for the home side however, with Liversedge in the ascendancy.
Sedge have now put clear daylight between themselves and the relegation zone, sitting in 13th place, just four points behind The Eagles. They have however played one more game than Eccleshill.
A win for Eccleshill could see them leapfrog Bottesford Town into 10th place, as they look to potentially finish the season strong and get a top half finish to build on for the next campaign.
Going into this Bradford derby form may go out of the window, but it is certain that The Eagles will try their hardest to get back to winning ways and build some end of season form, starting today.
