This Saturday we travel to The Beehive in our second game of the season to compete against Studley FC in the Midland Football League, as never team will be competing in the FA Cup.
Last season we won at The Beehive in the very first game of the season winning 0-2, goals from Ashley Piper and Liam Davies on the day. In the reverse fixture Studley got their revenge with a 1-3 win at Copsewood on the 19th April, Danyy Fraser getting the only goal for Copsewood that day.
Like Hinckley on Saturday, Studley FC also have a new manager in charge this season, after former manager Vaughan Pearshouse departed the club. The new man in charge is John Edwards, who has come in from Littleton having finished 8th in the MFL Div 1 just one place above his new club StudleyFC. John has also brought in Wayne Bunn who was with him at Littleton. By the looks of things on the Studley twitter account, they have had a pretty busy pre- season bringing in some quality players to the squad, with the hope of progressing on last season.
After a good 1-1 draw with Hinckley on Tuesday evening, Copsewood go into the game with a big headache for the management team. All the players played really well and showed that they were really up for the game including the substitutes that came on, one of which Milan Kazmierczak scoring the equalising goal in the second half on his debut. So we look forward to another exciting tough game on Saturday where we can hopefully come away with our first 3 points of the season.
