For the first time this season, Ellistown were 2nd best in a game as Asfordby run out comfortable 3-0 winners. Asfordby have found a formula that is working as they made it 6 wins out of 6 in the league.
Asfordby started the game on the front foot and Ellistown done well soaking pressure and trying to hit the home team on the break.
Asfordby had a great chance to take the lead midway through the 1st half from the penalty spot, but a world class save from man of the match Max Alford kept the game goalless.
It was key for town they went into half time at 0-0 as you could see Asfordby were getting frustrated.
Therefore, it was it was disappointing that yet again Town hit the self-destruct button as a sin bin on 43 minutes left us with 10 men to see out the half. Confusion amongst the lads in terms of formation led to Asfordby' Andy Melville waltzing through our defence to score.

This game against one of the favorites for the league will not define the season and while disappointed to lose, it's key we quickly regroup and go again on Wednesday at home to Blaby & Whetstone in what will be a special night for the club as we play for the 1st time under our new floodlights.
