Cottesmore AFC v Ellistown FC

Town hit the self-destruct button to lose a game they were bossing in the 1st half.

Cottesmore came out of the traps faster than Town and took the lead on 8 mins from Mark Tinsley.

At this point you thought it was going to be a long painful game for Town as we struggled to get in the game and string 2 passes together.

But we dug in, and started to play some decent football and were beginning to boss the game, therefore it was no surprise that we equalised on 28 mins when Man Of The Match Torin Harkin rounded the keeper to score into an empty net.

At this point you could see, if Town could keep calm and cut out the mistakes then a surprise victory was on the cards as Cottesmore struggled to keep pace with us.

As per the trend for this season, when in control Town hit the self-destruct button by giving away a needless penalty that Harry Stannard stuck away.

From this point forward town collapsed as you could see the confidence being sucked out of the players and we limped to half-time 2-1 down.

Summary

A hard defeat to take considering we were controlling the game at 1-1. There will be some soul searching this week and we will come back fighting for next Saturday's game away at Hathern.
