When your luck is out, your luck is out and our luck is out as Anstey sneaked a 3-2 victory with another late goal.
With 5 changes to the first team, it was understandable if it would take some time for team to settle. In fact it took 5 mins as the away fans thought we had taken the lead when Sam Thorpe slotted home from close range, unfortunately the linesman was playing bah humbug as he flagged for offside.
This kicked Anstey into life as they took the lead on 8 mins when Ashley Day scored from the penalty spot.
AN 1-0 EIBS 8 mins
We struggled to contain Anstey but we were always in the game and looked dangerous on the break.
Anstey doubled the lead on 24 mins when Mark Foster scored.
AN 2-0 EIBS 24 mins
In an open game played in freezing conditions, EIBS done well to match Anstey until half-time.
AN 2-0 EIBS HT
The second half was all EIBS as we took control of the game and gave Anstey a big fright. We got back in the game with the goal we deserved on 61 mins when Josh Turner scored a screamer from 30 yards.
AN 2-1 EIBS 61 mins
With the away fans in full voice, EIBS attacked, attacked and attacked and we blew the roof off on 79 mins when from a Dave Leigh cross Sam Thorpe equalised with a fine header.
AN 2-2 EIBS 79 mins
The game was now up for grabs and credit to the lads, it would have been easy to settle for the point but we went for the win knowing it would leave us at risk of losing.
Losing it would be as on 84 mins a rare Anstey attack resulted in Mark Foster scoring the winner.
AN 3-2 EIBS 84 mins
For the remaining 5 mins we tried everything to score but we run out of time and it was a very relieved Anstey side walked off at full time with the 3 points. Our lads were cheered off by the away fans.
AN 3-2 EIBS FT
Well done lads, a top class performance that proves our 1st win of the season is coming soon.
