A game of two halves

A typical game of two halves saw Greenwood go home with the points after 2nd second half goals.

Again, a much changed side started the game and we matched a more organised Greenwood side who had to cope to 2 early injuries that resulted in a 50 year old (he looked 50!!) striker coming on as sub.

During the first half chances were at a premium and we were unlucky not to take the lead when Amit Chopra noticing the Goalkeeper off his line took aim from 50 yards. We watched as the ball looped over the goalkeeper and hit the crossbar.

That's typical of our season.

At the other end Marc Radforth made some fine saves to keep us in it.

At half time it was anyone's game.

GM 0-0 EIBS

Greenwood started the 2nd half on top and opened the scoring on 48 minutes when James Price slotted home from the edge of the penalty area.

GM 1-0 EIBS 48 mins

That goal gave Greenwood the confidence we lacked as we struggled to get back into the game.

We tried to get back into the game but could not fashion the chances our effort deserved.

Greenwood made the game save on 85 minute when Kamran Frost slide in from 5 yards to meet a cross from the left.

The goal resulted in a final score of.

GM 2-0 EIBS FT

Summary

An improved performance from the lads but our wait for a 1st league victory goes on to next week when we are away to Belpar.
