Rolling over to the 89th minute and Hathern were cruising to a 3-0 away win then 2 town goals made it a crazy last minute but Hathern held on for the 3 points.
A surprisingly sluggish Ellistown could not get into a game against Hathern who were coming into the game on a high after reaching the Beacon Hill Cup final.
Therefore it was no surprise when Hathern took the lead on 14 mins when from a corner, emergency centre forward Adam Porter slotted home a bullet header.

The goal never jolted town into life and while Hathern were not causing us any problems, town just could not get going and it was key we reached half-time no worse then 1-0 down.
With the referee ready to blow for half-time, Hathern struck again for the crucial 2nd as Adam Porter scored his second from 2 yards out. For the goal, town goalie Warwick Miller wished he was 6 foot 7 instead of 5 foot 7.
EFC 0-2 HFC 45 mins and HT
Except for the last 2 mins, the second half was a carbon copy of the 1st and when Hathern scored their 3rd through James Beech on 70 mins you sensed town were playing for the beach.
EFC 0-3 HFC 70 mins.
This season has proved Ellistown don't give up and while this was a rare off day, we kept on going and got the goal our determination deserved on 89 mins when Kai Smalley coolly finished for his 9th goal of the season.

With the Ellistown faithful singing we are going to win 4-3, Adam Gretton with a superb turn and volley made it 3-2 on 90 mins. Game on.
EFC 2-3 HFC 90 mins
With Hathern panicking, Town had 1 minute to make a remarkable come back but the clock beat us and the final whistle went with a final score of

Summary
Another 5 mins and Ellistown would have won. This was a tired performance and no complaints from Town Committee and Supporters who appreciate the effort these lads have put in this season.
