A great team performance today at a wind swept Sileby saw Town move into the top 5 with a 3-1 away win.
Special mention goes to our Captain, Leader And Legend Jake Mcloughin who run the show and Zakeri Adams for 2 Lionel Messi dribble goals.
With a strong wind making football difficult, it was a credit to Ellistown FC that the lads still tried to play football on the ground and while conditions made this difficult that played into Sileby's hands, we did not panic.
We took a deserved lead when Zakari Adams picked the ball up on the halfway line and dribbled through the Sileby defence to coolly finish.

We rode our luck after the goal as Sileby used the wind to shoot on site, but with Warwick Miller in control between the sticks, we were comfortable in defending the lead.
Sileby got back in the game when a wind assisted pump forward caused confusion in our defence and allowed Harry Toon to round Warwick Miller and slot the ball into an empty net.

We nearly took the lead straight from the kick-off as a Jake Mcloughlin power-driver from 35 yards took off in the wind and crashed against the post.
While Sileby had majority of the ball and chances, you knew that Ellistown were more dangerous on the attack. Key to this game was for Ellistown not to go in at half-time 2 or 3-1 down.
We achieved that objective as the team begin to strangle the life out of a Sileby who were getting frustrated at not scoring the 2nd goal.
ST 1-1 EFC HT
The second half was an example of how far Ellistown have come this season as we took control of the game and while another legend of local football Carl Benson will wonder how he missed 3 open goals for Sileby, this should not distract from a 2nd half performance that had fast paced passing attacking football, brute force but fair defending and sensible game time management.
We deservedly took the lead on 70 mins when another wind assisted free-kick from the half-way line from Jake Mcloughlin saw the Sileby goalkeeper misjudge flight of the ball as it bounced over his head and left Owen Parker the simple task of following the ball into the net.
ST 1-2 EFC 70 mins
3 minutes later, Zakeri Adams made the game safe with another Lionel Messi dribble through the Sileby defence, round the goalkeeper and a simple pass into the net.
ST 1-3 EFC 73 mins
This game was all about taking chances, Sileby could not and Ellistown could. This frustration boiled over for Sileby when the number 7 was sent off the punching Jake Mcloughlin. This was the closest any player got to Jake all game.
The sending off made the game safe and we were content to manage the clock and see the game out to make the final score.
Sileby Town 1 Ellistown 3
Summary
This is a good Sileby side, therefore a great victory for Elllistown whose team ethic ensured the 3pts.
Special mention goes to Mason Penny who made the jump up from Ravenstone Utd and did not look out of place. It's a shame you did not score. Well done.
This victory moves us up to 5th in the league and in good shape for the Friar Lane game next Saturday.
