Ellistown's young chargers taught an important lesson

On a disappointing day, Ellistown were taught a harsh lesson in that you get what you put in.

For 41 mins that meant with a depleted side, matching Hathern man for man and no one would have complained if Ellistown went into half-time with a slender lead.

The spine of our side, Warwick Miller, Aaron Windram, Christopher Nettel and Jamain Nelson were controlling the game then it all went wrong.

A punt over our back line and Liam Walton raced down on goal and made no mistake.

HFC 1-0 EFC 41 mins

1-0 down and what should have been a minor setback turned terminal as heads went down, shoulders started to shrug and it was everyone else's fault.

Hathern smelt blood and Liam Walton scored his 2nd bang on half-time .

HFC 2-0 EFC 45 mins and HT

Liam scored his hat-trick straight after half-time.

HFC 3-0 EFC 46 mins

3 goals in 5 minutes and with a negative attitude spreading across the field and into the bench, it was no surprise that Hathern scored further goals on 75 minutes (Liam Walton's 4th) and 80 minutes (Lee Ward) to make the final score.

Lads, we know your a young side, we know you will make mistakes, we know you will lose games, we know you will play superb football and we know you will win more than you lose.

All we ask it that you give everything in an Ellistown shirt for the full game. We know your better than a 5-0 defeat and we will always be proud of you.

Everyone connected with Ellistown, it's time to enjoy your weekend and look forward to next week's return fixture at Terrace Road.

Let's kick today's negativity into touch and be more positive.
