Ellistown FC 3 Pro Chance 0
A superb all round performance saw Ellistown run out comfortable 3-0 winners against a Pro Chance side who never gave up trying to play football in the right way.
On a glorious sunny day, a rare event in Ellistown, both sides were looking to play football and it was Ellistown who sprung out of the traps 1st as they dominated the 1st 20 mins and while Pro Chance with their neat passing game posed a threat on the break it was town through Captain, Leader and Legend Chris Nettles with a calm finish who went into the lead on 21 mins.

Shape of the game continued after the goal with Town probing and in control and ensuring Pro Chance never got a sniff of goal.
Pro Chance should have equalised when they cut through the Ellistown defence, but the striker could only watch in despair when on through on goal his shot went the wrong side of the post.
That lifted Town who were now creating chances their play deserved. The 2nd goal on 37 mins came about from Pro Chance insistence of playing the ball out of the back. That works on a 3g pitch or the green grass of Wembley but on a grassroots football pitch no, as the defender tried to go past Haydn Brown, the ball got stuck in feet and allowed Haydn to nick and run through on goal and score.

The remaining minutes were about protecting the lead and town accomplished that without any issues.

It was key Town never let Pro Chance back in the game and we started the 2nd like the 1st, in control and looking most likely to add to our 2 goals. This was down to our superb team press as we never let Pro Chance settle on the ball.
The passage that summed up both teams came on 57 minutes when a sweeping Pro Chance move resulted in a quality save by Kelby Tyers, who then threw the ball out to our fallback and man of the match James Warren who fed his brother Ben who went flying down the wing and sent a brilliant cross over to unmarked Danny Turner who made no mistake from 5 yards. A quality goal that the healthy crowd appreciated.

Credit to Pro Chance at 3-0 down they tried to continue to play football and it needed a couple of smart saves from Kelby to keep them at bay.
You could see town were determined to keep a clean sheet and credit to our defensive unit of Kelby Tyers, James Warren, Michael Hills, Ash Riddell, and Adam Poxon they were brilliant and were ably supported by midfielders, Ollie Coe, George Wesley, and Chris Nettles who provided enough ball to wingers Ben Warren and Haydn Brown to keep Danny Turner interested in further goals.
The lead allowed the manager to give vital minutes to Jacob Stevenson, new Father Josh Anderson, and Finn Chaplin.
The subs fitted straight into the system and town were comfortable in seeing the clock out and take the 3-0 win.
