Oldham U11s v Heaton Moor U11s

Sunday morning saw Oldham U11s travel away to Heaton Moor and play two games against their hosts.

First Match
Oldham showed lots of improvement from the week before identifying gaps and trying to get the ball out to the wingers. It was Buckley's debut today and he put in a strong performance attacking and tackling very well. Devon Hawkins made some great tackles and several great runs, one in particular looked like a certain try but he got tackled into touch, just before the line. Devon and Tommy Duffy linked up to make a powerful tackling duo. Zack Robinson stole the ball at breakdowns and passed it out well. The first half finished 4 - 0 to Heaton moor. Corey Kelly and Justin Lawrence were also denied tries by good opposition defense and use of the touch line. Zack again stealing at the breakdown and shipping the ball out to Corey who made yards every time he had the ball.

Second match
The Heaton Moor lads ripped the ball from Oldham several times and went on to score 4 tries. Corey Kelly made a fantastic interception and scored the first try of the day for Oldham. Justin carried extremely well and gained needed yards. Lukas Forsyth demonstrated good passing under pressure while Corey also relived pressure with an outstanding clearance kick. Heaton Moor scored again with another rip but Corey used some fantastic footwork and scored a second try for Oldham. Heaton Moor went on and scored 3 more trys by the end.
Final score was 8-2 to Heaton Moor.
