Today’s team was a complete change from any team all season. Manager Alan Hollingsworth had his work cut out after an unprecedented number of injuries and players swapping teams.
Oldham arrived at Broughton Park knowing they were in for a hard game. With the number of changes the team was never going to be a settled.. The return of Andy Newton was a bonus as he hasn’t played all season due to injury. Steve Kennedy pulled out of the team late due to ill health. Colt Josh Watson started his 3rd team debut at scrum half and seemed to hold his own against a well drilled and determined Park side.
Oldham went a try down after just 7 mins but tried to fight their way back only to concede another try.
Winger Anthony Cunningham got Oldhams only points of the day with a push over try.
Not long after Oldham lost Andy Newton with a bang on his head which left him not knowing what or where he was. Broughton Park showed why they are 2nd in the league and continued to attack Oldham.
