Two tries in the first 19 minutes cost Oldham dear in a tough contest against Broughton Park.
Despite constant breaks from Jay Taylor and Will Wright, Oldham's support play and intelligence lacked at times. Despite some strong defence by Oscasr Cheetham and Josh Molloy, Oldham couldn't break down an organised Broughton Park outfit.
With ball in hand, Oldham certainly shifted the ball out quick, but the efforts were in vain when no support in the breaks turned the ball over to the opposition - something we have to work on in training.
In the second half, defence was alot tighter and more like the Oldham of old, but lacking the cutting edge of last season, the team needs to capitlise on half chances, and today it was a story of missed chances.
Man of the Match went to Will Wright for his great defence, and his breaks in open play.
