AYFC History & Club Information
The Club was formed in 1963 as Caldecott Boys. It later changed to become Abingdon Boys. In 2000 there was another name change to Abingdon Boys & Girls and in 2002 the club adopted its present name Abingdon Youth FC. Although the Town became part of Oxfordshire in 1974 (historically Berkshire), it is affiliated to the Berks & Bucks FA.
Abingdon Youth FC is one of the biggest & oldest youth football clubs in Oxfordshire, with over 300 boys & girls of all abilities playing at various levels. We aim to provide football to all children in a structured, safe and happy environment. AYFC actively supports the FA "Respect" campaign.
Abingdon Youth FC is affiliated to the Berks & Bucks FA, is 3 Star England Football Accredited and is a Community Partnership Club with Oxford United.
Information About The Club
- All home games are played at Southern Town Park, Lambrick Way, OX14 5TJ.
- Colours: Yellow Shirts / Green Shorts.
- All competitive teams playing in either the Oxfordshire Youth Football League or the Oxfordshire Girls Football League
- The Berks & Bucks County Cup (under 12's & above)
- All Managers are at least Level One FA qualified.
- The Club was awarded FA Charter Standard Development status in 2011, and later attained Community Status. In 2021, the FA changed the accreditation and AYFC became 3 Star England Football Accredited (the highest possible).
- The Club has also became a Community Partner Club with Oxford United, the first in the County to do so.
