Stockton Under 16's 10 points v Acklam Under 16's 17 points

Acklam travelled to our close neighbours and rivals Stockton for what was to be expected another hard fought game of rugby. Acklam with a few late withdrawals where grateful for Max Weston’s return to fitness in time for this game. Acklam kicked off and both sets of players got to grips with each other. Acklam where playing with a fair amount of pace and passion and where keen to get the wingers involved in the game from the off, but Stockton were not letting Acklam all their own way with some great defence on show from them along with their own attacking intentions. Acklam broke the deadlock when after some good play from Reece Rollings, a supporting Joe Dixon was on hand to get over the try line and score his first try for the club. Well done Joe. Scott Hamilton kicking the conversion. 7-0 Acklam. Back came Stockton and now it was Acklam to defend for all their worth which they managed to do and then work their way up the field with an attacking break of their own. A scrum was formed and from that Tom Hughes stole down the blind side to score a try. 12-0 Acklam. The half time team talk was about keeping the intensity of our play to the high standard from the first half. Stockton kicked off for the 2nd half and once again both sets of players tore into each other, with lots of strong tackling evident in a quality defensive display from both sets of players. Acklam finally got the much needed 3rd try when Reece Rollings got his hands on the ball 10 metres from the try line and managed to brush off a number of defenders to ground the ball. 17-0 Acklam. Stockton, however refused to lie down and came back at Ackalm with renewed vigour and some strong running from their forwards, especially the number 8, managed to grab 2 tries which were well deserved. Final score 17-10 to Acklam. A great game of competitive junior rugby.

Acklam Under 14's 19 points v Yarm 29 points

HALF TIME ARFC 0 YARM 17
In the words of a good song
"lets skip to the good part"

When Acklam woke up yes we can compete and yes we can play but as the 2nd half score was ARFC 19 YARM 12 shows we can win many games tries from William Howe (stand in prop) and Kye Bailey (MOM) and a penalty try ( George Pemberton ) a couple sweet conversions by our knew kicker "THE HESS " (Essaen) we are winners but such as shame this game is two halves !
All 18 lads stepped up to the mark in that 2nd half and as well as they played was how bad they played the 1st one
Always heads up as we can make all excuses new players 5 injuries 4 but need to play 50 minutes rugby like Yarm did to win at any level
So hats off to Yarm good luck and wishes go to you from all here as you are a great bunch coaches supporters and of course players a much deserved win
Thanks for the ref a true gent and played game fair and we (Acklam ) could have no complaints
Big thanks to bar staff and sweet shop assistant for your input and to all CONCERNED the message is ,
"UP THE ACK !!!!!!!!"

Acklam Under 15's 0 points v Stockton Under 15's 43 points

This was a very competitive game and the Stockton coaches said that this was the best game they had played in so far this season. Acklam for all the work that we put in on the training pitch regards the contact area, time and time again we lost the ball by poor presentation. This coupled with the lack of confidence to move the ball wide meant we created little scoring opportunities.

Lessons to be learnt, take onboard and move on to the next game.
