After 10 minutes Hodgson found Warminger who played the ball into Jamie Smith and the inform striker put the A’s 1-0 up. Bishop found himself in the clear but his shot was well saved by the home keeper.

Acle looked square at the back, as Davis should have levelled matters, but new boy Luke Hall denied him. Man of the match Hall made a string of brilliant saves as the Acle defence could not cope with a quick Beccles attack.

Smith played in Diggins who pulled back a quality ball to Tooley who should have scored. Warminger almost doubled the lead but the assistant ruled out his header for offside.

Bishop was having a fine game for the A’s, and later in the game slotted in at left back when Challen made a tactical change.

Bailey was a constant threat all afternoon but Hall saved everything that was thrown at him in a virtuoso performance.

Davis shot twice in a minute only for Hall to save the day, but when Payne dwelt on the ball Bishop robbed him to score for 1-1. Substitute Rosario was looking all energy up front, as he almost scored just before half time.

5 minutes into the second half the impressive Rosario slid the ball home to give Acle a 2-1 lead. Acle then survived a goalmouth scare as the ball was kicked off the line.

Substitute Cooper was showing some quality touches and almost increased the advantage but the ball was kept out of the net.

Davis was again denied by Hall in the away goal, before the game was put to bed when the lively Tooley dispossessed Tipple to play in the impressive Cooper who easily put Acle 3-1 up.

Bailey should have reduced the deficit but the ball trickled along the goaline before running out for a goal kick. Jamie Smith was again looking busy up front but pulled a couple of chances wide.

So Acle recorded their first of the season against a quality Beccles side with Hall the difference, with notable contributions from both Cooper and Bishop.
