Acle United extended their recent unbeaten run to 5 when holding last season’s Mummery Cup winners UEA to a 2-2 draw at Bridewell Lane.

The A’s were without Foreman, Gibbons and Coleto Cano but Bull-Anthony and Daniels returned to the squad.

Conditions saw United make first use of a near gale force wind and when the ball was tossed into the box Brooks shot narrowly wide.

Acle were pinning their opponents back in their half as Tooley played in Forder who was inches wide but from a corner Kelf crossed for Tooley to head on into the net for 1-0.

UEA replied when Aldridge palmed the ball out but Pond was the first to react as he tucked the ball away in the far corner to level matters at 1-1.

Forder dinked a lovely ball into D’Rosario, but his volley was held by the keeper at the near post. Then followed neat work by Eseka in the Acle box before shooting wide.Acle should have taken the lead but Forder’s shot was cleared off the line by Rust.

Playing with the wind in the second half Kendrick put the visitors in front, only to signal all out attack by the A’s to square the match.

A succession of corners paid off when Skipper Forder bent his flag kick in with the wind for Lucas Bull-Anthony to rise above all and plant a glorious header into the top corner for 2-2.

Ricky Forder was again making things happen in midfield and his wonderful pass set Warminger free but his shot was kept out by the UEA keeper. At the other end Young could have sealed the deal for the Graduates but he scooped the ball over the bar.

Referee Batty had a good game in the middle, but Dade was unlucky to be cautioned as his opponent crossed his path as the two players came together.

On chances Acle should have won the game, none more so than when Forder played in D’Rosario with just the keeper to beat but he pulled his shot wide as the game finished 2-2.

Manager Thompson was disappointed not to take all three points, but indicated that a new arrival or two was on the cards as the A’s made it unbeaten in five.
