After last week’s emphatic win over Ramgarhia, Acomb men 1 travelled to Halifax 2 who were on equal points as the tangerines in division 2. The tangerines drew level with 23 minutes remaining when Anthony Daley shot rebounded off the keeper and fell to Dickenson who drove home passed a an out of position keeper from a tight angle. Shortly after disaster struck quite literally when a home forward’s reverse strike was sailing over the bar but hit defender David Bell on the eyebrow which eventually required 13 stitches at York hospital and put him out of action for the rest of the game.
