Acomb men’s 1 travelled the long distance to visit Lindum 3 in Lincoln who were just behind the tangerines in division 2. In an even first 25 minutes both sides tried to outplay the opposition defence but the hosts were kept at bay by some good saves from keeper Craig Brown and sound tackling from Stuart Baxter. With ten minutes remaining Lindum took the lead with an amazing roofed shot from a tight angle but the tangerines equalized almost straight away when Ryan Smith’s cross found skipper Matt Dickenson who found time to control and outwit the home keeper. Dave Richardson had an opportunity to give the visitors the lead but shot wide just before the break. Ten minutes after the break Lindum had a lucky break when a messed up penalty corner routine fell for them to drag flick from an unexpected angle passed Brown. Once again Acomb equalized for the second time shortly after going behind from a Dickenson penalty corner drag and they could have taken a lead had one of James Tindall, Ryan Smith or Bob Unsworth had hit the target. Then with 2 minutes remaining and the tangerines looking to secure a point disaster hit when they conceded twice from tap ins to end up pointless by a harsh 4-2 score line.
