Acomb men’s 2 travelled across to take on Bingley Bee’s 1 in their rearranged game from earlier due to bad weather. Both teams were quick off the mark with the game going end to end but in 15th minute the hosts were awarded a penalty corner which they converted and 9 minutes later doubled their lead from another penalty corner to give them the half time lead. The tangerine’s keeper Richard Crossland kept them in the game with a fine save early after the restart but was unable to prevent the hosts taking a three goal lead. Acomb’s skipper Jonny Brown reduced the deficit from his own penalty corner and further closed the gap with 7 minutes remaining with a fierce shot from close range. Acomb continued hard to find a leveller but were thwarted by the host defence who ran out 3-2 winners thereby denting the tangerines hope of promotion and gaining promotion themselves. The tangerines man of the match went to Dave Brown who had a great solid performance in defence.
