The Annual Fans and Players match took place last night at Mayfield Stadium as boots were donned for, in some cases, the first time in years.

The players team, in the away strip, seemed to run out winners although the score wasn't really the main thing on peoples' minds. Amongst the players on show was club top goal scorer, Nahum Green and fan favourite Jonathan Paoluccio. The Fans team was also joined by first team youngsters Khalid Babikir, Israel Ospina and Oscar Guana whilst the Junior Academy Chairman, Tony Pearson, decided to add weight to the players' team.

Amongst those playing were Manager Kevin Rayner and first team Coach Rowan Martin; several of the junior team managers who were cheered on by some of their players, some parents and Club Director Paul Pickering joined the supporters who had brought their boots to take to the pitch.

The first half goalkeeper for the Fans team was 13-y-o James who gave up his place behind the goal cheering on the team to a place between the posts. He pulled off several great saves and having swapped the goalkeeper's jersey for a maroon shirt for the second half he did enough to earn him the Man of the Match Award. Goalkeeping Coach, Garry Henry, presented James with his award, a bottle of champagne, whilst James' mum Trina promised she will keep it safe for him for when he is old enough to drink it!
