It is time to shake off the Turkey, Christmas Pudding and Mincepies, not to mention the sprouts, and head to Mayfield Stadium for this 2pm kick-off as Farleigh Rovers as leaders by a comfortable 11 points over the Rams although they have played 4 games more.
Farleigh are on a 9 games unbeaten run in all competitions and haven’t lost in the league since 2-1 home defeat by Banstead Athletic at the end of September. Their draw last week at Dorking ended a run of 6 successive wins in the league.
The Rams contested a 3-3 draw with second placed Worcester Park and the visit of Farleigh Rovers is the second of a run of 6 home league games in a row. A win or draw against Farleigh will keep them on their toes although as Manager Antony Williams commented he would rather have the points than the games in hand.
Boxing Day evening rain will mainly die out overnight although it will remain cloudy and there could be the odd shower on matchday. The temperature will remain above freezing but only just and the northerly breezes will make it feel very cold.
Four of the top five sizes are playing each other today as in addition to the match at Mayfield Stadium Worcester Park travel to play Banstead Athletic at Merland Rise. It is landlords v tenants as 7th placed Bedfont & Feltham take on 6th placed CB Hounslow United and also at Chalky Lane as Epsom Athletic take on Chessington & Hook United. Sheerwater host Dorking whilst Sandhurst Town entertain Eversley & California to round off the league programme.
