AFC Henley runs competitive teams from U9 - U18 in the East Berks Football Alliance (EBFA). Onward progression can be into our partner club Henley Town FC's men's teams, which play in the Hellenic League, Reading Sunday League and Reading Saturday League. They also field an U18 team in the Allied Counties league.
Membership for players U9 to U18
We have set the annual membership fee at £160. Sibling rates have been set at 50% (£80). This covers the costs of Saturday match day fees and midweek training sessions for the season.
Skills training for boys and girls at our Saturday morning Mini Soccer Centre (U5-U8) and our Monday Midweek Mini/Junior Soccer Centre (U6-U12), provided by professional coaches linked with Reading Football Club.
Girls competitive football
We offer mixed boys/girls skills coaching in the Mini/Junior Soccer Centres and, when numbers permit, separate girls-only coaching under a dedicated coach. In the absence of a fully-fledged Girls section within the club, we have established a feeder arrangement with Wargrave Girls Football Club and AFC Caversham for those who wish to make the transition from our Mini-Soccer Centre to competitive league football at U9. Anyone interested should speak to the Mini-Soccer Centre Manager on a Saturday morning.
The club supplies shorts and socks on demand, free of charge, to playing team members. Home and away shirts are the club's property. They are issued on match days only and returned to the team manager after washing.
Assistance with costs
The Henley Educational Trust (HET) will contribute 90% of the membership fees for those in financial difficulties who are eligible for assistance. If you would like to apply for a grant, please click on Documents (under Information), complete the form and return it to your Team Manager.
To find the right contact for your child's age group, please click Team Managers (under Information) or contact Matt Jones, AFC Henley Membership Secretary.
