A cracking game spoilt by some awful weather. Simon Wilson had more players available for selection. Back from suspension were (vice Capt) Livingstone and (capt) Hills and Smith from serious injury.
The first half was played in what was like a summer night. Both sides pushed for goals. Tow Law needed points for survival and The Biggin to cement mid table position. First blood fell to The Biggin when the returning from injury Smith slotted home on 39 mins. However, in true Newbiggin fashion this season we couldn't hold our lead or extend it as Walsh equalised on 43 minutes.
During the first 45 a strong volley stuck the crossbar and the returning Livingstone had a goal ruled offside for The Biggin.
The weather changed for the worst as the wind got stronger and rain fell incessantly. Again both sides battled hard in the conditions.
Lizinde put us a head with a beautiful powerful header, his 2nd in 4 games. But fate struck again and Groves squared the game up for a final score 2-2.
Thanks to the 103 brave souls who turned up and endured the cold and rain and purchased programmes, raffle tickets and refreshments.
