Womens FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying
v Pucklechurch Sports Ladies AFC

What an occasion to play in and be part! And the game didn't let all those supporting both clubs down. Record crowd, unchartered territory and all the nostalgia this great cup brings!

From the off nerves were evident amongst the ladies, that and the fact the opposition were well drilled and prepared.

Both sides created glimpses of opportunity early on but it was great work from Eilidh Currie who went through to beat a couple of players before being brought down! Penalty!

Up stepped CHARMAINE TRUE to slot home confidently 1-0

Pucklechurch to there credit got straight on with it and caused the ladies problems and in doing so came an injury to the ever reliable Brooke Marshall sustaining a head injury and having to go off after 20 minutes for Hannah Walker.

The game continued to to-and-fro with every challenge full on! Play was heated and it took until injury time of the first for the ladies to score again.

This time it was Sara Hinton picking up a loose ball and evidently finding EILIDH CURRIE who from 25 yards hit her shot low and hard into the bottom right hand corner giving the keeper little to no chance 2-0

HT 2-0

The second half was much the same as the first with full blooded tackles being made, players giving it their all with no quarter given.

The ladies had chances to extend their lead, but equally Roxy Roberts was called upon on several occasions either reacting to through balls or producing smart saves when required.

The ladies held out well and rightfully and deservedly celebrated at the final whistle with both the fans and families watching.

Portchy POTM - The whole team deserve mentioned but it was Roxy Roberts sponsored by The Onsite Group, fantastic leader among leaders and fully deserving of the award.
