Coed Eva Athletic 1/9/2018
The 1st team travelled to The Birches for what was their first away fixture of the new season against Coed Eva Athletic.
Even though there were a few notable absentees, the manager was still confident that the starting line-up was a strong one. The first 20 minutes was a tight affair, with the majority of the game being played in the middle of the park. Both teams created little in way of clear chances, but as Tranch looked to exploit potential mismatches down the right, the breakthrough looked to have come when the ball was handled in the box by the Coed Eva defender. Iwan James stepped up to take the Penalty but his effort was saved well by the Coed Eva Keeper to keep the scores level. That save galvanized Coed Eva who took hold of the game and quickly went 2-0 up by half time.
Coed Eva started the 2nd half as strongly as they finished the 1st and caused Tranch problems with the physical approach to the game. The pressure paid off when they scored against to make it 3-0. With the game seemingly drifting away, Tranch did get back into the game when Andrew Hayes broke away to pull one back to 3-1 however, that score line was short lived as Coed Eva soon restored the 3 goal cushion.
The game was not as one sided as the score line would suggest and Scott Crowley, with a superb volley found the net rather fortuitously following a goal keeping error from the Coed Eva keeper who was arguably their man of the match.
Final Score Coed Eva 4, Tranch 2.
