The first pre season friendly ended with a one sided scoreline. Though the result doesn't fully tell the true story of the game. The first half was a very close affair, with both teams spurning good chances. It was Aimbry who took the lead though through Dwayne Willie late in the half. A long kick from Brooks in the Aimbry goal was won by Fletcher, who's flick was picked up by Willie. A smart turn and he was clean through and slid the ball under the advancing Dalton goalkeeper. The score stayed 1-0 to HT.
Half time saw many changes for both teams with Dalton replacing almost every player to give everyone a run out. Aimbry took control of the game after this and the goals quickly followed. A good strike from captain Matthew Kilner was enough to beat the Dalton GK although he will have been disappointed not to have saved it. 2-0.
Not long after that Aiden Cox made it 3 with a nice header at the back post, after a good delivery from Fletcher. 3-0
Substitute Andy Modeste then got in on the action with a nice run and finish, nutmegging the defender en route to to goal, and finishing with a nice driven shot. 4-0
Cox grabbed his second of the game to make it 5-0 but straight from the restart a Dalton midfielder ran through and from 30 yards hit a strike top bins past Brooks in the Aimbry goal who never moved such was the strike. 5-1
Bobby Davidson soon scored a 6th for Aimbry after a slick passing move, culminating with a nice finish from the debutant midfielder. 6-1
The last goal of the game was scored by another debutant Simeon Fletcher who had tormented Dalton the whole second half. He started the move with a few feints and passed it out to the wing, playing a 1-2 with Davidson, took on 2 more defenders and hit a low shot beyond the Dalton goalkeeper to make it 7.
A strong performance from Aimbry against the newly formed Dalton dynamoes, who look to be a force to be reckoned with in district league division 4 despite this result.
