Utter s*** is the only words I have for this performance. Mikey was left with little choice for the squad with late call offs, suspension and injuries stripping our squad to the bare bones. That however is not an excuse for this performance.

We started with the wind at our backs with the weather changing from rain sleet and snow and were actually 2-0 up with both goals being similiar. A long kick up the park from the keeper saw Euan Scott cleverly run on to the ball before squaring for Jamie to tap in. We then scored another again with a long kick up the park being fumbled by there keeper to the feet of Euan Scott who knocked home for 2-0.

Barca got their first goal back just before half time when a corner was brilliantly taken in both hands by Gary before their striker barged him whilst he was in the air causing him to drop the ball which was knocked towards the goal and then cleared off the line. My complaint being a clear foul on Gary and even Barca players admitting the ball never went over the line. They then scored with the last kick of the half when despite looking a mile offside the striker finished a through ball well.

The second half is not worth talking about and Barca looked like scoring at every opportunity. The only plus from the game was Jamie Archibald whose work rate was outstanding and he was the only one who did not deserve such a hammering.

Elsewhere in our league (yes we are in a league) the favourites South Gyle were beaten 2-0 away to Blackridge whilst the Pilton derby ended in a 4-4 draw and Seaforth and Dunalba also ended in a draw 2-2.

Any hopes of getting back to league action next week have been scuppered again with a third attempt at beating Links in the Ian McDonald Cup scheduled to take place at Broughton High School. After the first two games against them in this cup I dread to think what could happen in this one.

We need to re group and forget yesterday as quickly as possible and get back to winning ways.
