Head Coach Jon Arch has made a few positional changes in the First (A) team this week, using what is expected to be a very tough game against an excellent Spartans side as preparation for the rest of the season and with next season in mind.
Ben Eden will be making his first start in the pack in the back row, with his physical power and pace it can only benefit the mobility of the pack, and with Ellis Garrett moving to tight head prop it gives our pack a new dimension. Lea Ross moves from 9 back into the pack at hooker, replacing skipper Mark Smith who is away for the weekend. Daniel Lastun makes a return from 'retirement' in the pack, lining up alongside Daniel McKenna, and Ben Drinkwater moves to 8 as the influential Josh Reynolds is not available.
After a very good performance on the wing last week, Ben Tal starts at 9, with very much a point to prove. In the back line we welcome back both Jacob Holding, Adam Morris, and number 10 Adam Reed to the starting lineup.
"It amazing that we are putting two strong teams out on a key 6Nations saturday, many clubs have dropped to one side or have cancelled fixture this weekend - it showed the work put in by Darren, Skip and others to rally the troops... I am genuinely excited at some of the changes we have made this week." Jon Arch
