Coming off a 3 game losing streak, the ACFC first team was determined to get back on the right path. However, this would not be a simple task with the team traveling to face CF Intercity “B”.

Intercity, being a local powerhouse with their first team in the 3rd tier of Spanish football, have a very strong youth system and Intercity “B” is no different, full of young and hungry players.

With this in mind, ACFC knew they had to use their vast experience to regain their form.

The match could not have started off better for ACFC, with Guillermo Saldaña Moreno scoring in the 7th minute.

This early blow would be the only scoring in the first half, with the ACFC defense being as resolute as ever.

Manager Pancho Guerrero made one substitution at halftime, bringing on Adrian Bisbal for Youssouff Diabate.

Intercity kept pushing but the ACFC defense was proving to be too well organized on the day.

Joel Fioriti returned from a spell out due to injury with a substitution appearance in the 69th minute for Adrian Valdivia.

The game developed into a little bit of a scrappy affair, with the referee pulling out 11 yellow cards and 2 red cards.

In the 80th minute, ACFC academy player Sebastian Inostroza came on for John-Michael Villarreal to make his first team debut. Yet another debut in the young season, the recruitment department has clearly done a great job bringing in high quality players this season.

The match would come to an end, much to the relief of ACFC as they finally returned to winning ways. They hope to continue this form into the Winter break, as they host UD Altea next weekend.
