Alnwick Rugby Club Update

Dear Members / Players

I wrote to you a couple of weeks ago with the measures that the club needed to put into place following the introduction of the local restrictions. Since then we have had the new national guidance put into place and yesterday we had further local restrictions come into effect.

Therefore I thought, it would be a good opportunity to write to you all and explain the current measures that the club has needed to put into place and ask all members to follow these, in order to keep our club safe, reduce the opportunity for the infection spreading and stop the need for the club to pay out any fines for breaking the new rules put into place.

As of yesterday the local restrictions lawfully ban the four following areas :
• Residents must not socialise with other people outside of their own households or support bubble in private homes and gardens.
• Hospitality for food and drink will be restricted to table service only.
• Late night restrictions of operating hours have been introduced for entertainment venues meaning they must be closed between 10pm - 5am.
• Residents must not socialise with other people outside of their household or support bubble indoors, such as pubs and restaurants.

This means that from tonight when the club opens we must take steps to ensure that members entering the club:
• Are only in groups of one household or support bubble per table if they are to be seated in the main clubhouse.
• or more than 6 people if the group does include multiple households if they will be seated outside ( although this is advised against, it is not legally banned under the local restrictions) .

What actions do you need to take when visiting the club:

• On the 18th September, nationally, it became mandatory for premises to collect NHS Test and Trace data, and to keep this for 21 days. Therefore when entering the club we ask you to use our QR code to check yourself into the premises, a poster has been placed at the front entrance and you simply scan this with your NHS App on your mobile devise. If you do not have this facility, we will collect this data from you, once you are seated at a table.

• Prior to coming into the clubhouse could all members remember to wear face coverings, which can only be removed while sat at the tables and must be replaced when moving around the clubhouse, including when visiting the toileting facility and when exiting the building.

• When entering the clubhouse, could members please follow the one way system and go immediately to a suitable table. A member of staff will be with you in due course to take your order. Premises are asked to take all reasonable steps to ensure that customers remain seated whilst consuming drinks on the premises and ask for your help in following these rules.

• Last orders will be made at 9.30, as the premises must be closed with all customers vacated by 10pm.

Once again i thank you all for your continuing support, we really are only trying to follow the guidance set and we are hoping that these will be short term measures to get us over this next hurdle on the Covid-19 journey.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch

Thanks

Em
