Once again we prepared to face the most imposing side we have to deal with. Their ranks are filled with giants and they are quick, well drilled and difficult to stop.
However, Alnwick lads may be small but they demonstrated a resolve that made us proud. The score does not reflect the battle that ensued as most of the scores were at the end of the second half where injury and some experimental substitutions disrupted the side, so I will take the responsibility for that. The real score would have been much closer and I view this as the 3rd of 3 weeks of great rugby and a fantastic attitude displayed by all.
Big Don was not able to make the game and so the man of the match responsibility fell to me. Unfortunately this week I could not make a decision as there were so many deserving. Jack Tuczemskyi - tackling and rucking like a man possessed; George Blackburn and Ben Sutherland worked very hard to cover ground and clean out the contact area; Drew Thompson for the most courageous tackle to stop a 5 m penalty going over our line; James Davies, Will Brunger, Harry Paul; James Stanley for relentless tackling; Isaac Girera and Hayden English for penetrating runs and I could go on.

So, we hold our heads up, we remember there will be no game more physical than that, we acknowledge we are on an upward curve, and we look forward to the next one which is Tynedale in 2 weeks.
