The first visit to Greensfield by Rockliffe resulted in a narrow 15-20 defeat for Alnwick.
The game started in customary fashion with Alnwick conceding a try from a tap penalty in the first few minutes (0-5).
Alnwick rallied, and after good work from the forwards, Lewis Finney found space to go over in the corner (5-5). Continued pressure led to Archie Cartwright sprinting down the wing to score an excellent try (10-5). The game looked to be all over when good work down the blindside from Archie Elder led to a try from Ollie Tulip (15-5).
The final 5 minutes saw Rockliffe score 3 individual tries with the right winger proving very difficult to stop (15-20). Praise must go to the visitors who never gave up and took their chances when they came along.
