Coca Cola Cup Draw

Coca Cola Cup Draw

Jonathan Laverick20 Mar 2012 - 11:36

The Amagents management have been reacting to last night’s Coca Cola Cup draw which saw Amagents drawn away to Division 1 leaders, Wonder SC.

Both manager, Karabo Letebele, and coach, Jonathan Laverick, attended the Coca Cola Cup draw at the Cresta Hotel last night.

This is the 21st and final edition of the competition, with Coca Cola focusing future attention on a national youth league – hopefully starting in the 2012/3 season. However, last night was focused solely on the elite 64 teams in the country for the first round draw in the P3 million competition.

The event itself was very professionally run, with everything running to time and a great performance from MC, “No. 1 Fan”. Both the BFA and Kalagadi Breweries were well represented, with participants from each involved in the pulling of the balls out of the hat.

With BFA chairman, David Fani, kicking off the draw it was not long before Amagents appeared to meet alongside Wonder Sporting Club. This got the biggest cheer of the night!

Wonder, who lead GACFA Division 1, have already met Amagents this season and they won 2-0. Ironically, they were due to meet in the league this Saturday, but now the fixture will be a knock out one!

“It is a fixture we can, and at least we do not have to travel” was the view of Karabo Letebele, who was slightly disappointed to be playing a team in a division.

“I agree, it is a winnable game – especially in the cup. Wonder are flying at the moment, but we are a difficult team to break down and we will have a full strength squad on Saturday” said Laverick.

“It was great to be involved last night, and it makes you realise how well run football in Botswana is. Very smooth, very professional!”
