With most league games kicking off this weekend, we thought it was a good time to remind you what happens when you visit the club

Access
The approach road to Amaranth (Manston Lane) is still subject to significant disruption as the new link road to Thorpe Park is completed. Work is scheduled to be finished by the end of the year, but int he meantime, visitors to the club still have to use the narrow relief road that runs around the development. Please drive slowly and carefully along the lane and allow extra time for your journey.

The final approach to the club is through the farm. We have an excellent relationship with the Farmer, who gives the club a lot of help throughout the year. Please remember that this is a working farm with a maximum speed limit of 10mph when arriving or leaving. Each year we have people that speed through the farm which is destroying our relationship with the farmer. The speed destroys the road surface (leading to the bumps we are so used to seeing) and can scare the animals. In addition there are often dog-walkers, horse riders and joggers on the lane, not to mention young footballers arriving on foot. Your support in keeping your speed down is much appreciated.

Car Parking
On any given match-day, there can be as many as eight different matches taking place at the club. People arrive and leave all of the time and we only have limited parking spaces. We get the support of managers, coaches and club officials who volunteer to help park cars correctly and in a way that maximises the space available, whilst ensuring no cars get blocked in. Please follow their instructions if prompted to do so.

To help ease congestion int he car park, please follow some simple rules;

  • Please park close to other cars. You may arrive to an empty car park but it is likely there will be people arriving after you for different matches and the car park gets full quickly.
  • Please park where you are directed to park. You may find a large empty space which looks fine to leave your vehicle in, but one badly parked car can easily block ten parking spaces by not leaving enough room to create an extra row or blocking an exit route.
  • Where possible, car share. We often see one family coming in three different cars. It would help us if you can avoid unnecessary vehicles if possible.
  • Please avoid bring vans to the club. We appreciate the road surface isn't great and you may prefer to travel in a works vehicle than a private car, but these take up double the amount of room.

Dogs
We welcome friendly, well behaved dogs at the club, but dogs MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES. We appreciate that you may have the best behaved, most well trained and friendly dog in the world, but if you don't keep him on a lead, we have no right to ask other dog owners to keep their pets on a lead. This rule will be enforced and we may have to ask you to leave if you are not willing to comply.

Litter
Litter is a big issue at the club. A small amount of plastic or crisp packet can seriously injure the animals in the fields around us, and some litter can damage our mowers, costing hundreds to repair.

We provide bins for your rubbish and ask that any mugs are returned to the clubhouse after use. This instruction extends to all players who may bring drinks to games. Please ensure that any parents educate their children to take their bottles with them after the game and throw them away.

The coaches and managers are often left to pick up rubbish after the matches which is not fair given the efforts they already put in to the club.

Food and Drink
On most match days, we will provide cafe facilities for visitors. It is only viable to do this when there are several matches being played so we apologise if you arrive and the cafe is closed. The cafe raises vital funds that help towards the running costs of the club and we ask that you support us by purchasing food and drink from the cafe where possible. We also have a licensed bar which will be opened after senior games and alcohol can be purchased at other times if required.

We also respectful remind all visitors that the drinking of Alcohol at the side of pitches is banned. Alcohol must be consumed in or immediately outside of the clubhouse. In addition, all glass (glasses/glass bottles etc.) are banned from the pitches or side of pitches for obvious reasons.

We appreciate there are a lot of rules, however we remind everyone that this is for the safety and welfare of all players, spectators, members, coaches and officials.
