Away v Abbeymead

To give more children footie we decided to mix age groups and play 2 games originally the plan was 7v7 until i saw the pitch and we went with 9v9.

I the first match we fought really hard to contain a pacey Abbeymead side. We didn`t create much in the way of goal chances and conceded after 5mins.
Kasper, Ted and Jayden worked hard to contain the opposition attacks and with Sam, Harvey & Joe tackling hard in midfield we kept them at bay. Harry made some good saves to keep us in it with Matthew up front alongside Coby we looked like we could get back into the game.
Owen made a couple of last ditch tackles and just before the end of the first half we were putting pressure on their defence and Coby went close just before the break.
Half time at 1-0 down we were still in it .
But within 5 minutes of the second half we were 3-0 down and under a lot of pressure, but we stood strong and didn`t concede again. Harry was extremely brave when trying to stop their 3rd goal throwing himself into the feet of the attacker and took a nasty knock in the face but he carried on and showed great Character.
Man of Match Harry.

Game 2
With the introductions of the U10s who next year will merge into our team we seem more on it,
Sam went in goal and carried on Harrys good work and made some great saves.
Henry and Ollie B started to dominate the midfield and Ollie M and Cameron were catching the defence out and getting behind them.
Its was Cameron who cut in form the right and Keith was waiting for him to cut back onto his right foot to shoot but amazingly he slotted the ball home with his left foot to put us 1-0 up.
William and Jayden controlled the defence much better and we looked dangerous every time we attacked. Just before the end of the first half Ollie B dribbled the ball into the area and as cool as you like passed the ball into the net.
2-0 at half time but we knew it was going to be harder 2nd half .
We held out until 9 minutes to go until we conceded and the game became very open.
Harry came on and soon went close after good work form Ollie M.
We held out to win 2-1 a great effort by all.
Man of Match
Really difficult decision. It could have been any of them but I think Ollie B just shaded it.
Well done all.
