I'm sure that you are all very much aware that it has been almost a year since we were able to play a meaningful game of rugby. Both our senior mens teams were topping their leagues, we were looking forward to a cup final, our Ladies section had gone from strength to strength and were on the verge of joining the league system and the numbers and strength of our magnificent Junior section had become the envy of many clubs in the Combination. The future was looking bright for the mighty purple and white.

When the season was halted back then few people thought that we would not be playing again for over a year, but here we are.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our club members, from the oldest to the youngest who have continued to support your club through this difficult period by turning up for training, drinking in the bar when we could and helping out in many other ways. I would like to say a particular thank you all of you who have helped the club financially both by continuing to pay your subs and by making donations.

Looking forward, the 2021/22 season marks the clubs Centenary and your Committee is working hard making plans for what, I'm sure, will be a memorable season. Watch this space for more details, a lot of exciting events are in the pipeline.

At this moment in time, we can only be guided by Government guidelines and RFU directives but be assured that the club will be ready to act as soon as we are allowed.
