Ladies Chair Heidi Hall gives some info about this season's Ladies squad.
"The Ladies coaches this year are Andy Morrison and Joe Coghlan. Andy was assistant coach last year and has stepped up to take the lead role this year. Both bring experience, energy and fun to the team.
Captain is Emma Chaning-Pearce. She has played second row and 8 since youth days, through Uni years and captained last year too. She always leads by example on the pitch and is a calm and level-headed leader.
Vice captain is Jemma Takel. She is a huge fan of rugby in general and a big Bears supporter. Jemma is a versatile player who can pretty much play anywhere on the pitch. She has been developing as our 9 through last season and steps up brilliantly to motivate the team on the pitch.
This season is our second in the league and we are excited to bring on board the new coaching team and some new players too. The league is small, and although fairly local, has a wide spread of teams in terms of experience and standard, with some teams that are new to us. With such a small league, we will be looking to bolster fixtures with lots of friendlies through the season. Our aim is to improve our win stats and get a lot more points on the board, as last season we had many games where the score did not reflect the possession and hard work of the team so we will seeking more reward for our efforts this year!"
The Ladies train on Tuesdays at the Lockleaze Sports Centre staring at 8pm. All new players of any experience are very welcome to come along and join them
