Mental health issues can affect anyone, at any time

As the chairman of your club I treat mental health as a top priority. I have a history in working within this field, have my own personal history and wounds and now very proudly co-own Ripples Wellbeing offering 1-2-1 counselling.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme of this year is the connection between nature and people’s mental health. Over the last year we have all faced times of adversity and challenge. Thankfully in amongst all of the chaos, many of us have been able to get out in the fresh air, hear birdsong, see wildlife and simply explore the great outdoors. Imagine living in a world where you couldn’t appreciate nature.

I wanted to provide you all with some resources that are available to us all should we face difficulties:
Mind
Samaritans
Heart to Heart Bristol
Ripples Wellbeing

I personally also have an open door and am happy to help signpost in times of need.

As a club, we believe that we have a culture where we can trust each other and we recognise that life can be incredibly challenging at times. ADOB is like a big family, we pride ourselves on versatility in the diverse skills we have as a collective and there is always someone that will be there to help.

Remember it is absolutely ok to not be ok.

I am happy to have a chat with anyone that wants to and will always remain proactive in my approach with Mental Health. Please look after yourselves and each other.

Club Chairman
