With the season on hold, our players have been maintaining their fitness by hitting the roads, paths and water to raise funds for Gloucestershire Young Carers.

The concept was devised by Vice Captain, Adam Bradley and, with the amazing support and drive of Social Secretary Tom Finnie, the challenge has grown and grown over the last 4 weeks.

The initial idea was for AKCC to complete 100 miles before nominating 5 local clubs to do the same. They would then donate to our JustGiving page before nominating 5 more clubs and so on.

Sadly, we didn't get the interest from the other clubs that we had hoped so the decision was made to push on and reach 1,000 miles ourselves and we would share the fundraising page to friends and family. We reached our 1,000 mile target in just over 2 weeks so, following another conversation amongst the players, it was agreed that we would dig in and aim to get to 5,000 miles.

As of 21:30 on Tuesday 19th May, our total mileage stands at 1,940.04 miles not out with our fundraising page totalling £450!

This has been a huge effort from all those that have participated and given our players something to focus on whilst we await the all clear to start playing again.
