Lancashire Junior Rugby Challenge starts Sun 22nd U13s at Garstang and U16s at Bury , good luck lads.

The first team faced local rivals North Manchester, who opened the scoring with three good tries all converted and Ashton were looking down the barrel , but what a turn round two before half time for 12-21 with Costy converting. A tough end to the half for North saw them take an injury in a small squad and a yellow had them down on numbers.
Ashtons self belief was back and added two tries a conversion and a penalty to take the lead midway in the second half 27-21 and the scoring slowed, but North pressured well and the game looked evenly balanced . Late in the game a well judged kick ahead saw Travis Powell win a foot race for the line, helped by the unfortunate North defender falling in persuit, converted for 34-21 at the end. Scorers were Jordan Marshall, Billy Travis, Woody, Fishy with some good footwork and Travis finishing off, Costy with 3 cons and a pen. Well done to both sides and the ref for an entertaining game.
Bury U16s 15-31 Ashton U16s
Ashton opened their Lancs JRC season with a win 4 tries from Tom Ainsworth and one from Matt Cope , Ethan Booth added 3 conversions. Men of the match chosen by Bury Tom Ainsworth and Ethan Booth , the lads played well a big improvement on last week. They will look to take this into next Sundays Lancs game at home to Aldwinians.
