The home side had the best of the opening excanges and took an early lead with a Tom Costello penalty, but around the 20 min mark two lost lineouts in their 22 lead to a converted Tyldesley try.
The visitors next try was the result of some excellent rugby from just inside their own half, as quick hands followed by astute kick resulted in a touchdown in the corner , leaving Ashton 3-12 in arrears at the interval.
Ten mins into the second half saw the introduction of another debutant when Josh Meredith went on to take his place on the wing alongside brother Alex who then moved to scrum half as Grayson rested himself.
It was disappointing after some improved scrummaging and applied effort, that a clearance kick was charged down and pounced upon to give the visitors their third try.
This certainly did not stop their endeavour , and when Josh Pattison made a break from his own half his kick ahead was hotly persued deep into opposition territory. The pack laid siege to Tyldesleys line, Pietsch went close and the ball was finally spread out wide where Travis Powell went in for a well deserved consolation try.
