My Name is Dave Haworth and my Son, Steven was diagnosed with Cancer at the end of November 2010 at the age of 29. The type of Cancer was Small Cell Cancer, a very aggressive type.

He needed two operations at Hope Hospital, Salford on his spine and neck and then he went to The Christie for his Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy sessions. The Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy didn't work and he was transferred to Bolton Hospice at the start of February. He had been kept informed at each stage and he knew the prognosis and how quickly things were moving on.

Steven died during the afternoon of his 30th birthday, on the 13th February 2011.

The staff at Hope Hospital, The Christie and Bolton Hospice were brilliant.
My Sister in Law, Lynne died from cancer in 2010 after a courageous three year battle and most recently in 2013 my Aunt died from Leukemia after a long illness.

This is the third time that I will be taking part in the BUPA 10K Manchester run, which this year is on the 26th May 2013.

I am very keen to raise as much as I can for the The Christie and the Bolton Hospice, who rely heavily on donations to keep their services going .
